ISLAMABAD/QUETTA: The government issued on Thursday a fresh notification about appointment of JUI-F Senator Mohammad Khan Sheerani as chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) for three years.

Senator Sheerani had rejected an earlier notification because instead of specifying the tenure it said the appointment would be effective “till further orders”.

In Quetta, JUI-F leader and Balochistan’s Senior Minister Maulana Abdul Wasay said the new notification was in conformity with the Constitution and Maulana Sheerani had accepted the post.

The Maulana will be the 12th chairman of the CII.
