KARACHI, Sept 21: Syed Sadruddin Shah’s dark bay filly Hoor-e-Mehran, after two very impressive victories on the trot, should scorch the turf over six furlongs and register a hat-trick of victories when the Summer Gymkhana Race Meeting commences from 1.00 p.m. at the Karachi Race Course.

The filly is vying for the top honours in the seventh event with eight other runners in contention.

If all goes well, Lucky One, also with two consecutive triumphs under her belt, should follow the winner home to grab the second spot, with Sapno Ki Rani and Ray Of Light completing the frame.

All in all, eight events have been chalked up on the racing programme. The first six races will be held over the sprinting distance of five furlongs and the last two will be going over six.

Sadruddin should have another winner in the concluding event. His highly bred bay colt Raqeeb-e-Azam, also with two straight wins, takes on the much talked about chestnut colt Lippizzaner.

Owned by leading owner Syed Taufiq Kamal, Lippizzaner has won his last two starts with remarkable ease and along with the chestnut filly Royal Fantasy also vying for the spoils, this event should provide the racing fans with plenty to cheer about.

In the opener, the roan mare Abr-e-Noor with a good lad astride, should edge out The Messenger and Glamour Girl near the finishing post.

The bay filly Royal Beauty if ticking, should humble the rest of the field in the next event, with Striker, My Baboo and Speed Fire, battling it out in the home stretch for the two place berths.

Lawrence Of Arabia, although finishing a disappointing fourth last time out, is fancied to overcome the likes Rolling Thunder and Hogen, with Clever Cat, Sher Khan and Gharnata, joining the fray in the third race.

The next race of the afternoon has a big field of 18 runners. In an interesting encounter over five furlongs, Sajan Black should pass the winning post ahead of the game Prism Of Life and Black Magic.

When the dust settles down and the fifth race begins, a keen contest is in store with Wonder Thunder edging out the speedy Dushtiyani and Son Of None.

In another big field with 18 runners contesting in the sixth, Sulman Love, although penalised to carry 9-1 on his back, should get the better of Aziz Love and Ever Shine, with Love U Lady completing the frame.
