PESHAWAR, Sept 21: Iqra University, Peshawar, has agreed to develop and launch a website of the Peshawar

Press Club and set up a library, the Project Director of

Iqra University, Obaidur Rehman announced here on Saturday.

Accompanied by his media manager, Abbas Khan, Mr Rehman visited the Peshawar Press Club and were given a guided tour of the club by its president Intikhab Amir.

He was impressed by the facilities there including the health club and resource centre.

He announced the university’s decision to develop a web site; the first of its kind in the country.

It would include a brief history of the club, information on its members and their relationships with various national and local newspapers.

He also said that a library would be established, the existing computers would be upgraded, and free computer training workshops for journalist would also be held.

The University’s project director also announced two scholarships for journalists’ children at the university.

Earlier, Mr Rehman said that the students at the Iqra University were developing a web site for the NWFP police and have undertaken the computerization of the Governor’s House.
