NEW DELHI, Nov 10: At least 40 people died in a landslide in southern India when a house in which they had gathered for a wedding was buried by mud from a hill, officials said on Saturday.
Fifty people were in the two-storey house in the city of Trivandrum when the landslide struck on Friday night, said a spokesman for the chief minister of Kerala. “They were sleeping in a house when the side of the hillock caved in all of a sudden,” the spokesman said.—AFP
