EC warnings carry no weight: ARD

Published September 20, 2002

LAHORE, Sept 19: As the Election Commission has failed to implement its orders, so its warning to the civil administration and police for interfering in the polls process carry no weight, says ARD deputy information secretary Munir Ahmad Khan.

Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, he reminded the chief election commissioner that Sindh governor Muhammad Mian Soomro had formally applied for a PML-QA ticket but, he regretted, Mr Soomro was still working as the chief executive of the province.
