PESHAWAR, Sept 19: The Awami National Party (ANP) has asked the federal government to allay NWFP government’s apprehensions regarding the 6th National Finance Commission (NFC) award, criticising the Centre and the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) for “keeping mum” over the net hydel profit payment issue.

In separate press statements issued here on Thursday, the provincial president of the party, Begum Nasim Wali Khan, ANP’s central information secretary Haji Mohammed Adeel and former senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour demanded of the federal government to ensure net hydel profit payment to the NWFP was in line with Article 161 of the Constitution.

BILOUR: In a separate statement, Ilyas Bilour, former president of the FPCCI, said the finance ministry should take into account the entire revenue of Wapda before determining the NWFP’s net hydel profit share and the same should be protected under the 6th NFC award.
