PESHAWAR, Sept 18: The balloting for the allotment of plots for government employees in the Regi Model Town was held here on Wednesday.

Nearly 30,000 government employees had applied for the plots against a total of 9,631 plots in the Rs7.5 billion mega housing scheme in Peshawar. Chief Secretary Shakil Durrani was the chief guest on the occasion. He is also the chairman of the Benevolent Fund.

The balloting, held at the Nishtar Hall, was largely attended by the representatives of various government employees associations, secretaries of administrative departments and officials from the Benevolent Fund which had sought applications for the allotment of plots.

The MD of the City Municipal and Development Department, Malik Saa’d, was also present on the occasion. The balloting for the plots was performed by the Bank of Khyber.

Meanwhile, the CD&MD, which is overseeing the construction of the Regi Model Town, has announced lifting of the ban on transfer of plots in the township.

The development work on the housing scheme is continuing with full pace with the involvement of the National Logistic Cell.
