ISLAMABAD, Oct 27: The capital police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in fuel theft during transportation from depot to buyers, police said on Wednesday.

A police team during patrolling Sihala Bazaar spotted some persons busy filling drums from an oil tanker parked along the roadside.

On suspicion that the fuel was being stolen from the tanker, the police team approached the tanker and arrested them. During interrogation the driver of the tanker (RIN-4203) said he got the vehicle filled with diesel from PSO depot at Sihala and was going to Azad Kashmir. He said during transportation, he tried to steal the fuel.

Both the accused were taken to Sihala police station where they were booked under PPCs 407 and 285. They were also produced in the court of law from where they were sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand. —Staff Reporter
