IT was astonishing to read (Oct 17) that policemen demand bribe from flood-affected people to just allow them inside the Nadra office.

It is disgusting that they were asking for bribe from these pitiable people. No matter how poor the policemen are, they cannot compare themselves with these unfortunate people.

These flood victims depend on Watan cards for their survival. Although flood victims used to get food after showing their identity cards, but in many places people have lost their identity cards.

I met one such woman who said her father who was in the village, Rahim Yaar Khan, lost his identity card and was not provided food and shelter.

How insensitive does it sound? It is shameful on the part of our policemen. Authorities must take action against it.
