HYDERABAD, Sept 15: A pall of gloom hung over a marriage ceremony when a bridegroom died minutes before his Nikah ceremony in Sarfaraz Colony on late Saturday night.

Shafiquddin, the uncle of the bride, said that the bridegroom, Javed Ali, a resident of North Karachi, had felt pain in his heart and was taken to the Bhittai Hospital after arriving from Karachi.

They referred him to the cardiovascular hospital in Unit No12, Latifabad. The doctors then referred him to the Civil Hospital where he died after suffering from a cardiac arrest and high blood pressure.

His marriage party had arrived in Unit No10, Latifabad, at his uncle’s residence.

The bride’s family was waiting for the arrival of the Baraat when the news of Javed’s death was communicated to them.
