RAWALPINDI, Sept 14: The district health department has set up model Health Management Information System (HMIS) with the WHO’s assistance to make available information about the spread of diseases, their causes and control, officials said on Saturday.

The WHO representative, Dr Kalif Bile, inaugurated the HMIS centre alongwith District Nazim Raja Tariq Kiani. Dr Bile also donated a P-4 computer for the health department on the occasion.

Rawalpindi, officials said, had become the first district in the country to have HMIS. Abbotabad and Sahiwal districts would be getting HMIS very soon, they said.
