PESHAWAR, Sept 14: The chairman Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao), Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, has urged Pakthoons to bury all differences and bring unity in their ranks for the attainment of their rights. He decried that some elements, posing themselves as their friends, had exploited Pakthoons for personal gains which caused irreparable loss to them. He vowed to work dedicatedly and zealously for the rights of Pakhtoons that would help change their destiny.

He expressed these views while talking to various delegations at People’s House. On this occasion Nazim Pir Sadi Union Council, Fakhar Alam Khan along with Javed Iqbal Khan, Haji Zubair Shah, Andaz Khan, Haji Mohammad Anwar Khan, Qasim Shah, Mian Gul, Qasim Shah, Hakim Shah, Mian Gul, Haji Jabbar, Shahid and Bashir Khan resigned from ANP and announced to join PPP(S).

Nazim Shergarh Union Council, Shafiq and ex-MPA Jehangir Khan led the delegation.

Similarly, senior vice-president, Pir Mohammad PPP(P) and General Secretary Ehsanullah Khan of PPP(P) Tehsil Shabqadar along with entire cabinet and PML vice-president Charsadda, Raj Wali and ANP leader, Imdad Ali Shah along with family members and scores of supporters also joined PPP (S) and reposed confidence in the leadership of Aftab Sherpao.

Mr Sherpao deplored that Pakthoons had been passing through a critical juncture which increased their problems. He said that the PPP(S) was real representative of Pakhtoons and it would work hard for their cause. He contended that he had always rejected dirty politics and it was a staunch believer of constructive politics. He said that the masses would disown vested interests in October polls and vote honest candidates who could best serve them.

He advocated provincial autonomy saying that administrative, legal and financial autonomy would strengthen the federation. He believed that the federal parliamentary democracy was the basis of our political system and the more the federating units were stronger the more federation would get stability.

He said that the provincial autonomy, the rights of Pakhtoons and eradication of problems such as price-hike and unemployment were on the top of our manifesto. He expressed determination to endeavour for these issues and thus redress the grievances of oppressed strata.

He underlined the need for economic stability that would pave way for the prosperity of the people. He said that if voted to his party would embark on long-term economic policies adding that the short-term polices had caused damage to the people. He asked people to fully participate in October polls and make right choice on polling day.—PPI
