ISLAMABAD, Nov 10: Chair-man of the National Highway Authority Maj. Gen. Farrukh Javed has said that strict adherence to existing law will be observed while awarding contracts.

Speaking at the Executive Board of the National Highway Authority here on Saturday, the Chairman said that NHA Code had been prepared to appoint consultants and awarding contracts. The need was, he said, that the laws be implemented strictly.

He directed that defects in contract system be removed and it should be made foolproof and transparent. He said, similarly employment procedure in the NHA should also be carried out on the lines of already available laws.

Members of the Executive Board advanced proposals to the Chairman NHA in this regard.

The Chairman welcomed the suggestions.

It was decided in the meeting to award contracts of a bridge of Ghazi Brotha channel of Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway to the contractor who had been working on the project when the contract of whole the project was terminated.
