KARACHI, Sept 13: Eminent nuclear scientist and advisor to the president for science and technology, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has urged philanthropists to come forward and contribute towards welfare work to mitigate the sufferings of the overwhelming portion of the country’s population.

He said this while speaking at a ceremony held to pay tribute to him under the auspices of the Saving Hands Organization here on Friday. Dr Qadeer said that the “government alone can not discharge its obligations for alleviating problems of (the) masses, and it is incumbent upon every citizen of the country to contribute (his) share towards welfare work.”

Sindh Minister for Industries, Dewan Yousuf Farooqui said that Dr Qadeer is ostensibly the only personality in the country who was been accorded outstanding status unanimously by people hailing from all sections of society.—PPI
