KARACHI, Sept 10: The Judicial Magistrate South, Syeda Parveen Shah, has summoned Naseer Ahmed, a convict in a murder case, on Sept 19 at 8am whereas his execution has been fixed at 4am on the same day.

Naseer was arrested and tried by a sessions court for murdering Anwar Zaib after an argument in a Dubboo shop on 14-4-1993 in the police limits of Defence.

The accused was sentenced to death by the sessions court against which he preferred appeals which were rejected. His mercy petition was also rejected by the President of Pakistan.

Thereafter black warrants for execution of the convict were issued according to which he is to be hanged at 4pm on Sept 19.

Meanwhile, the convict lodged a direct complaint against Mohammed Pervez, the complainant of the murder case, under section 337 of PPC.

Taking notice of the case/complaint, the JM South ordered the home secretary Sindh and the superintendent of Central Prison Karachi to produce convict Naseer on Sept 19 at 8am for recording his statement on oath under section 200 of CrPC so that the fate of the direct complaint could be decided.— APP
