Rangers action at KU condemned

NAWABSHAH, Sept 9: The Teachers Association of Quaid-e-Awam University of Science and Technology, Nawabshah, on Monday condemned the atrocities committed by the Rangers against the teachers and students of the Karachi University on Saturday.

The association denounced the atrocious attitude of the Rangers towards the teachers and students of the Karachi University and demanded of the Sindh Governor and the Chancellor to suspend the vice chancellor of the university and conduct an inquiry into the incident.

The association, while rejecting the University Model Act by the task force for Higher Education, said a future strategy would be announced in the meeting of the All Sindh University Teachers Association at the Sindh University on September 11.

The meeting of the executive council of the teachers association was held under the chairmanship of Prof Jan Mohammad Keerio.

HESCO CRITICIZED: More than 60 power consumers observed a token hunger strike against the local Hesco officials for issuing inflated bills in Qazi Ahmed on Monday.

The protesters said that they were being subjected to mental torture by the local Hesco officials, through detection bills, who were fooling the public.

They demanded of the Hesco chairman and other high-ups to take action against the officials within three days.

The protesters were Led by Bahar Khan Mari, the Nazim, Union Council, Mirzabagh.

GUNNED DOWN: A villager was gunned down over an old enmity in Muberi Pubjo village on Monday.

Ali Khan Dahri, 45, was gunned down by Mohammad Ramzan Dahri and Shahin Dahri outside his Autaq.

The Pabjo police have lodged an FIR but no arrests were made till the filing of this report.
