QUETTA, Sept 7: A European Union observers team, comprising John Cushnahan and Staftan Darnolf, discussed matters relating to the elections with Balochistan Election Commissioner Abdullah Khan on Saturday.

The provincial election commissioner apprised the delegation about the arrangements being made for the elections in Balochistan and assured it that the Election Commission would take all possible steps for holding free, fair and transparent polls.

According to sources, the members of the EU mission expressed their satisfaction over the arrangements made by the provincial election commission.

The joint election commissioner of Balochistan, Qamar Zaman, and assistant election commissioner, Mohammad Rasheed Bhatti, were also present.

During its stay here, the European Union election observers delegation, that arrived on Saturday, would meet political leaders and officials concerned.
