Published September 8, 2002

PESHAWAR, Sept 7: A bomb disguised as a toy killed an Afghan refugee girl and seriously injured her two sisters at Akora Khattak, police said on Saturday.

The children were playing with the grenade-type bomb when it exploded on Friday near their home at Akora Khattak, 45km from here, the police said.

The six-year-old died later in hospital. A bomb squad from Peshawar defused a second toy-like bomb at the scene. Police are hunting the culprits. —AFP
