QUETTA, Sept 6: A special court for suppression of terrorist activities has awarded two years’ sentence to the Naib Amir of Jamat-i-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, for not appearing before the court in connection with a treason case.
The judge, Abdul Ghaus Nusherwani, announced the verdict in the absence of the accused. A case had been registered against Baloch last year for making objectionable speech along with other leaders.—Staff Correspondent
