HYDERABAD, Sept 6: The district police, Hyderabad, has established 16 places for holding political meetings during the election campaign in Hyderabad, Latifabad, and Qasimabad.

These places include the Dial Das Club, Basant Hall, Ladies Club, Mir Garden (opposite the railway station), Abbas Bhai Park-Rani Bagh, Gulshan-e-Illahi Sports Complex, Liaquat Colony, GTC Ground, Akbari Masjid ground unit No8 Latifabad, Nursery part unit No6, Board Stadium unit No6, Niaz Stadium, Mehmood Garden-Auto Bhan road unit No2, Bagh-e-Mustafa ground unit No7, a portion of Baldia bus stand ground, and the ground in front of the Eidgah, Rani Bagh.

MQM: The zonal in charge, Muttahida Quami Movement, Arshad Shah, and the members of the zonal committee have lashed out at the Hyderabad police for being biased towards the MQM-A saying that the police had removed party flags and election symbols from the city whereas the remaining political and religious parties had been given a free hand to continue their election campaign.

In a joint statement issued on Thursday, they reminded the police department that such attempts had also been made in the past to crush the MQM.

They appealed to President Musharraf to take notice of the partisan attitude of the Hyderabad District Police.
