HYDERABAD, Nov 9: ‘Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz’ (JSQM) has condemned the retrenchment of 700 employees by the management of the Sui Southern Gas Company and demanded the removal of the ‘biased” Managing Director of the company and reinstatement of the retrenched workers as per the orders of the Supreme Court.

In a joint statement issued here on Friday, the acting chairman of the party, Shafi Karnani and general secretary, Shabbir Jamali said that the company had terminated the services of 700 employees but the Supreme Court had ordered the reinstatement of 495 employees.

They alleged that despite the orders of the Supreme Court, the employees had not been reinstated.

They said that all the gas fields were located in Sindh and Balochistan but 95 percent of the employees were non-Sindhis.

They demanded that the MD of the SSGC should be removed and the orders of the Supreme Court should be implemented.
