KARACHI: Man run over by tanker

KARACHI, Sept 5: A young man died in a road accident in SITE on Thursday.

Police said that motorcyclist Syed Anwar Ali, aged 31, was knocked down by a speeding water tanker on Jamia Binnoria Road in SITE area. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

SHOT DEAD: An elderly man was shot dead in SITE area on late Wednesday night.

Police said that Gul Zarreen, aged 70, lived alone in his house in Pathan Colony, SITE.

On late Wednesday night, unidentified persons barged into his house, opened fire on him and escaped.

Gul Zarreen was seriously injured. A neighbour was taking him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but he died on the way to the hospital.

DIES: A young girl died in accidental firing in her house in Korangi on late Wednesday night.

Police said that Kiran, aged 20, was playing with her father’s rifle when it accidentally went off, in her house in P & T Colony, sector 33-A in Korangi. She received a bullet in her chest. She ws rushed to JPMC where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
