KARACHI, Sept 4: A three-member committee has been set up to facilitate the political parties to hold public gatherings and meetings in Karachi.

The committee, headed by the City Nazim and the DCO and the capital police officer as members, will decide the schedule of public gatherings within the jurisdiction of the City District Karachi in consultation with the political parties to avoid any clash of time, venues and dates.

According to the Sindh home department, in case of dispute between the parties as to the venues, time or dates, the matter would be decided by the home department.

The leaders of the political parties has been informed that they would have to follow the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission.

In case of violation, the matter would be reported to the the EC for an appropriate action.

They would also be informed that there shall be no show of weapons during the political gatherings/activities.—APP
