Dist council budget yet to be approved

BAHAWALNAGAR, Sept 3: The annual budget of the district council is yet to be approved as the convener has ‘illegally’ made changes to it.

Dawn learnt on Tuesday that district Nazim Ali Akbar Wain and council convener, Naib Nazim Mian Shaukat Ali Lalika, had developed differences. To take revenge, sources claimed the Naib Nazim illegally made changes to the approved budget and submitted it to the DCO before Aug 31.

They said the original allocation for the union councils was Rs1 million but the convener had doubled it besides changing the figures of taxation.
