KARACHI, Sept 1: At least 18 vehicles — four cars and 14 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen from different parts of the city on Sunday, police said.

Six motorcycles were hijacked and eight were stolen by on Sunday. Police claimed recovery of two cars and three motorcycles from various parts of the city.

KILLED: A partially decomposed body of a young woman was found from the marshy area in Ibrahim Hydri on Saturday night.

Police said that the body of an unknown woman was spotted in the marshy area of sea, behind the Pakistan Refinery Limited. The four-day old body had a bullet wound in the head.

It was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination, later it was sent to the Edhi morgue for identification.

FIRE: a woman fell unconscious and at least four persons suffered injuries when fire broke out in the newly constructed Madina City Mall, Abdullah Haroon Road, on Saturday night.

According to reports, the fire started at a money changer’s office located at the mezzanine floor of the building. It spread rapidly.

The fire-brigade employed over a dozen of their vehicles and used a snorkel, rescuing around 40 persons from the building.
