Germany team average: Beckenbauer

BERLIN, Nov 8: Germany are far from being a world class international side and are at best average, Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer said on Thursday.

“We’re a good average team, no more than that. There’s no point in fooling ourselves,” Beckenbauer, who captained the 1974 World Cup winning side and coached the German team that won it in 1990, told Kicker magazine.
