KARACHI: Wounded councilor dies

KARACHI, Nov 8: A minority councillor who had been seriously wounded in an attack on an union council office on Nov 6 in North Karachi died on late Wednesday night.

The councillor, Ilyas Masih, aged 45, was referred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre from Abbasi Shaheed Hospital because of his serious head injuries.

Three people, including a councillor Ishaq alias Nannah, a policeman Dewan Pervez and a passerby Abdul Aziz, were killed when unidentified motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire inside the union council office near UP Mor in North Karachi.

HOAX BOMB CALL: A hoax bomb call was received at the office of a foreign bank in Shaheen Complex on Thursday. The police said that the call was received in the foreign bank situated on the first floor of Shaheen Complex in the afternoon.

The bomb disposal squad was called in which searched the entire building.
