ISLAMABAD Nov 8: Pakistan Muslim League (LM) secretary general Gohar Ayub Khan has called for an immediate halt to the US-led air strikes on Afghanistan which were causing heavy killings of innocent people who had no part in the acts of terrorism.

He said that the division of Afghanistan was impracticable and impossible since it was bound in tribal and Islamic bonds.

Speaking to various party delegations which called on him at PML secretariat on Thursday Gohar Ayub Khan said, division of Afghanistan on ethnic and linguistic lines would be irrational and would not work.

His party, he said, was profusely concerned for the hapless Afghans who were forced to leave their homes and hearth due to the bombings and has started collecting donations and other relief goods for them.
