Canal breach in Sargodha

SARGODHA, Aug 26: A breach in Kirana distributary, some 30 kilometres from here, on Sunday night inundated several adjoining villages and more than 5,000 acres.

The worst affected villages include Chak Nos 69, 70, 71 and 72 SB.

When contacted, residents of Chak No 72 SB said on Monday that they informed the irrigation department about the breach but no official reached the spot. They attempted to plug the breach on self help basis but the seepage continued.

It was learnt that the irrigation department officials did not file the complaint in the record to hide their negligence.

Ali and Afzal, kidnapped Manzooran from her parents’ house.

Midh Ranjha police have registered a case and are investigating.
