PESHAWAR, Aug 24: The Peshawar District Bar Association has rejected the Legal Framework Order, 2002 (LFO), here on Friday and asked all the major political parties to boycott the general elections.

Through a unanimously adopted resolution, the association, criticised the LFO, stating that the military ruler had left the Constitution in a mutilated form.

The meeting was addressed by president of the association, Sher Afgan Khattak, Muhim Afridi, Saeed Zahir, Dawar Ahmad Khan, Farooq Shah and others. Mr Khattak said the LFO was unconstitutional.

He regretted that Gen Musharraf had restored presidential powers of dissolving the assembly and by-passing   parliament National Security Council had been set up. He added that another body, mediation committee, was also set up which would also influence joint sittings of parliament. He added that 23 articles of the Constitution had been amended whereas five new articles had been included.
