PAT announces candidates

LAHORE, Aug 23: The Pakistan Awami Tehrik on Friday announced the names of 269 candidates selected for contesting national and provincial assemblies elections on its tickets.

Releasing the lists of the PAT ticket holders at the party secretariat here on Friday, Tehrik Parliamentary Secretary and Chief Organiser Iqbal Mahmood Awan said that highly qualified people had been selected for contesting the elections from the party platform.

Of 84 candidates awarded tickets for contesting the national assembly elections, four were PhDs, 28 LLBs, four MBBS and eight MAs. Of 185 people awarded tickets for four provincial assemblies, 47 were LLBs, 11 MBBS and 25 MAs, he said. The rest were graduates.
