Couple slain over property dispute

GUJRANWALA, Aug 21: A man killed his US returned brother and his wife over a property dispute in Khokherki here on Wednesday.

Shahid Mahmood and his wife Uzma Bibi were present in their house when Aurangzeb fell out with them over the distribution of inherited property. After exchanging harsh words, Aurangzeb sprayed a volley of bullets on the couple, killing them instantly.

ARRESTED: City police claimed arresting a dozen members of two gangs of inter-district outlaws here on Wednesday.

SSP Saud Aziz said that Ehsan and Iqbal gangs were involved in around a dozen incidents of dacoity and robbery in and around the city and on the GT Road.

He said police also recovered looted goods, including jewellery, vehicles and a huge quantity of illicit arms from their possession.

The SSP said that ring leaders of both gangs were also rounded up during the crackdown.
