LAKKI MARWAT, Aug 19: Chairmen and members of local Zakat committees took out a procession on Monday against the All Councillors Alliance and rejected their demand of share in the distribution of Zakat money.

Earlier, at a meeting, they had argued that the councillors could serve the masses on the platform of the elected bodies.

The meeting, presided over by Dalo Khel Zakat Committee Sardar Ali Khan, was attended by Salim Khan Minakhel, Salim Badshah, Gohar Nayyab and others.

They said the Zakat distribution was a non-political issue, and the councillors and local politicians would hinder the smooth distribution of the money among the deserving people. The participants described the constitution of the alliance as illegal.—Correspondent
