Polio vaccination drive from Sept 3

RAWALPINDI, Aug 19: As part of the National Immunization Days campaign, a three-day polio vaccination campaign will be held from September 3, in which 560,780 children below the age of five years in Rawalpindi district will be vaccinated.

The district has been divided into nine sectors, which are further sub-divided into 32 zones.

In Rawalpindi Tehsil, there are three sectors i.e. city, cantonment and rural areas.

There are two zones in Wah and Taxila and one each in Kahuta, Gujar Khan, Murree and Kotli Sattian.

The vaccination task in these nine sectors would be accomplished by 1,405 teams, each comprising of two members.

Out of the 1,408 teams 1,178 will be mobile, 173 will be stationed at the health facilities and 54 at public places.

According to the officials, there would be 202 area in charges, 32 zonal supervisors and four tehsil supervisors.
