KARACHI: Medical admissions

Published August 20, 2002

KARACHI, Aug 19: The process of admissions in the two public sector medical colleges in the city is going ahead in a smooth manner, chairman of the admission committee for Dow and Sindh medical colleges, Prof Illahi Bakhsh Soomro, said.

He said the admission forms could be obtained and submitted up to August 31.

Mr Soomro, who is also the principal of Dow Medical College, said that so far about 2,600 prospectus and 2,300 forms for appearance in the entrance test had been issued.

He said the admission policy for the next academic session would remain the same as that of the previous year.

However, Mr Soomro said that a ten per cent cut in the seats was being implemented from this academic session. After the reduction, the total number of seats in the medical colleges in the province would be 1,140.—APP
