MITHI, Aug 18: Sindh minister for local government and public health engineering, Arbab Ghulam Rahim, has said that the government is yet to announce increase in number of the national and provincial assemblies seats for minorities and women but prior to that the Election Commission has announced the election schedule, which has created confusion.

Speaking at a press conference at the Karoonjher Hall here on Saturday, the minister said that the possibility that somebody might challenge the validity of such an election system could not be ruled out.

He said that the EC functionaries had made numerous mistakes while making delimitation of constituencies and added that local administration and authorities were not consulted in this regard.

Answering a question, he said that the government should prepare a long-term comprehensive relief and development package for the drought affected Thar.

Earlier, the minister met some Nazims, councillors and influential people of the area and issued orders on their applications.
