SANGHAR, Aug 18: The Peoples Party Parliamentarians has selected its candidates for the national and provincial assemblies for the coming elections, said Altaf Rind, president, PPP, Sanghar district, on Sunday.

According to the decision made at the party meeting at Bilawal House, Karachi, the other day, the following candidates will file their nomination papers from various constituencies of the district.

For NA-334, Abid Hussain (Sanghar, Sinjhoro), NA-335, Fida Hussain Dero (Tando Adam, Shahdadpur), NA-236, Sarfaraz Rajar (Khipro, half of Jam Nawaz Ali), PS-78, Mohammad Khan Chandio (Sanghar Taluka), PS-80, Ali Hassan Hingorjo (Khipro), PS-81, Ghulam Ali Wassan (Jam Nawaz Ali Taluka), PS-82, Mukhtiar Shoro (Tando Adam), and PS-83, Abdul Rehman Thaheem (Shahdadpur Taluka).

The candidate for PS-79 (Sinjhoro) has not been announced yet.

The PML (F) has disowned the list which was printed on Saturday in some newspapers. It has been learnt that within the next 12 hours it will be finalized.

A tough competition is expected in the district between the PPP and the PML (F), which is headed by Pir Pagara.

SIDA: The lower staff of the Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority (SIDA) demanded its salaries for the last two months on Sunday.

Riaz Lakho, Mohammad Soomar Khaskheli, president, SIDA, Nara and Jamrao division, lower staff union and many others told newsmen that about 8,000 workers of the lower staff had not been paid their salaries.
