KARACHI: City govt praised

Published August 19, 2002

KARACHI, Aug 18: The chief of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Karachi, Merajul Huda Siddiqui, has extended facilitation to the City District Government Karachi on completing one year.

In a statement on Sunday, he said the Al-Khidmat group had proved, through their work with the city government, that they were true representatives of the people of Karachi.

Citing the projects undertaken by the city government, such as repair and construction of new roads, provision of facilities in government schools, halting the privatization process and reforms in hospitals, especially at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, he said people should praise all these achievements.

He demanded of the government to complete the devolution process without further delay. He also demanded sufficient grants for water and sewerage projects in the city.—PPI
