LAHORE, Aug 17: The combined river flow dipped on Saturday to 373,900 cusecs from 497,700 cusecs on Friday. Out of this 259,900 cusecs was released for irrigation and 114,000 cusecs stored.

River Indus inflow at Tarbela came down to 235,600 cusecs and the outflow was reduced to 136,500 cusecs. Water level in the lake shot up to 1,531.08 feet compared to the optimum level of 1,550 feet. The lake now holds around 5.9 million acre feet. Its total live capacity is 7.2 MAF.

Inflow at Mangla also came down to 30,100 cusecs from 46,300 cusecs. The outflow was increased to 15,200 cusecs from 10,000 cusecs on Friday. Water level has gone up to 1,204.55 feet, 2.55 feet above the optimum level so that the lake now holds 4.8 MAF water.

Jinnah Barrage had an inflow of 268,000 cusecs and an outflow of 260,400 cusecs, Chashma Barrage 351,500 cusecs and 336,500 cusecs, Taunsa Barrage 317,700 cusecs and 289,200 cusecs, Guddu Barrage 150,000 cusecs and 117,700 cusecs, and Sukkur Barrage 78,000 cusecs and 34,500 cusecs. Kotri Barrage received 18,000 cusecs, none of which was released.

River Chenab river had a flow of 58,900 cusecs at Marala and River Kabul 49,300 cusecs at Nowshera.

According to the Flood Warning Centre, all rivers were flowing normally. Some were likely to dip further during the next 24 hours. It said there was no danger of floods.
