KARACHI, Aug 16:A division bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday put the Chief Election Commissioner and Secretary EC on notice for Aug 21 in the petition challenging denial of registration to Awami Himayet Tehrik.

The bench, comprising Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Justice Ali Aslam Jafferi, passed the order after hearing chairman of the AHT, Moulvi Iqbal Haider.

The petitioner had contended that he had complied with all requirements of law and had removed the objection raised by the respondent, but his party was unlawfully denied registration.

The bench ordered that notices be issued to the respondents as a first instance.
