12 die in Sargodha road accident

SARGODHA, Aug 15: Twelve people travelling in a wagon, including four women and a child, died and nine were injured in horrendous accident on the Lahore-Sargodha Road, 30 kilometres from here, on Thursday.

According to reports, a Lahore-bound passenger wagon (LXC-8186) collided head on with a truck (AEO-124) near Theri village at midday.

Eight people, including Habib of Gujranwala and Qudoos Bibi, daughter of Mubarik, r/o chak 99-NB, Sargodha, died on the spot. The four of the injured, whose names are not known, died on reaching the Bhagtanwala hospital.

The injured, identified as Abdul Hanan (an Afghan refugee), Noor Muhammad, Allah Ditta, Saifullah, Abdul Sattar, Kaneez (wife of Abdus Sattar), Hassnain, Gulnar, and Fakhra, were initially admitted to Bhagtanwala hospital, and later shifted to DHQ hospital, Sargodha. Their condition is said to be critical.
