LAHORE, Aug 15: Eighth seed Komail Hasan created a major upset to emerge as winner of the All-Punjab Independence Day Junior tennis tournament boys Under-18 category when he played superbly to topple top seed Munir Ashiq in two sets in the final at the Bagh-i-Jinnah courts on Tuesday.

Komail completed the win 7-5, 7-6 (7/3).

Munir started off well and led 3-0, and then 5-3 in the first set but then he made some unforced errors allowing Komail to clinch the set 7-5.

Munir put his game together and played well against his spirited opponents and was able to make the score at 6-all when tie break was played. Komail played a controlled game and easily won the tie break 7-3.
