PESHAWAR, Aug 12: The visiting 10-member peace delegation of Buddhist monks from different countries on Monday called on NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah here.
The leader of the delegation said the purpose of their visit was to convey a message of peace and brotherhood for the people of Pakistan and India.
Talking to the delegation, the governor said creation of a favourable atmosphere was necessary in South Asia for the restoration of peace in the region.
He said Kashmir was the core issue between India and Pakistan and urged the international community to help restore peace in South Asia by resolving this issue according to the UN resolutions.
The Buddhist Monks started peace march from Taxila on Aug 6. They will proceed to India on Aug 18.—PPI
