KARACHI: Aalmi Mushaira tonight

KARACHI, Aug 9: The 13th Aalmi Mushaira, organized by the Sakinaan Shehr-i-Quaid, will be held on Saturday at the KMC Sports Complex on Kashmir Road at 10pm.

The Mushaira was earlier scheduled to be held on May 11 and was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.

The Sakinan Shehr-i-Quaid has been organizing the event since 1989.

According to a press release, Gulzar Dehlavi, Saghar Khiyami, Papular Meeruthi, Hina Taimuri from India Sardar Soz and Dr Ahmad Safi from the US, Noor Jehan Noori from the UK, Kamal Azhar from Kuwait, Ataka from Japan, Farzana Sihab from Sharjah and Tasneem Abidi from Abu Dhabi will recite their kalam.

Munir Niazi, Mohsin Ahsan, Iftikhar Arif, Anwer Masood, Inayat Ali Khan, Sarfaraz Shahid, Mohammad Izhar-ul-Haq, Akhter Shumar, Fakhira Batool, Muzaffar Khalish, Saima Ali, Hasan Javed are expected from the cities other than Karachi.

From Karachi, the following poets will take part in the Mushaira: Tabish Dehlavi, Raghib Muradabadi, Jamiluddin Aali, Hanif Asadi, Nazar Amrohvi, Sarshar Siddiqui, Khalid Alig, Shabnam Roomani, Jaun Aelia, Saqi Amrohvi, Pirzada Qasim, Jazib Qureshi, Sohail Ghazipuri, Shahida Hasan, Muslim Shamim, Amir-ul- Islam Hashmi, Tariq Sabzwari, Majid Khalil, Rehana Roohi, Farooq Abidi, Zakia Ghazal, Hijab Abbasi, Rafiq Khayal, Raees Alvi, Imran Mazhar, Qamar Jamali Amrohvi and Syed Ali Amrohvi.

According to the press release, federal information minister Nisar Memon will be chief guest.
