Raiders end losing streak

OAKLAND (California), Nov 6: Rich Gannon threw three touchdown passes as the Oakland Raiders posted their fifth win in a row and ended a seven-game losing streak to the Denver Broncos with a 38-28 victory Monday.

Denver coach Mike Shanahan had been 11-1 against his former club, including the last seven meetings, which encompassed Jon Gruden’s entire tenure as Oakland head coach.

But the Raiders used a balanced attack to end their streak against Denver and improve to an AFC-best 6-1 record and a 1 1/2-game lead over second place San Diego in the AFC West Division.

Behind the gritty Gannon, the Raiders led from start to finish, tacking on points every time the Broncos pulled within striking distance.

Gannon completed 25-of-34 passes for 242 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Oakland receiver Tim Brown caught nine passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns and Zack Crockett ran for two scores for the Raiders, whose only loss this year was a last second defeat to Miami. Brown moved into fifth place all-time with 89 career touchdown catches.
