DHAKA, Feb 9 India's Madhurika Patkar emerged as one of the stars of 11th South Asian Games by striking four gold medals in the table tennis events which concluded at Wooden Floor Gymnasium on Tuesday.

Highly talented Madhurika won three individual and one team gold as Indian table tennis team made a clean sweep of the ping pong events by scooping seven gold and five silver medals to end their campaign on a great note.

Madhurika joined shooters Om Prakash and Surendra Singh Rathod in bagging four gold medals each in the 12-day regional sporting extravaganza.

In table tennis, competitions were held in men's singles and women's singles which were won by Madhurika and Soumyadeep Roy.

Meanwhile, Nepal's Rajendera Parsad Bhandari won the 35-km marathon event here.

Sri Lankan Ajith Bandara Adikari won the silver while India's Ram Singh grabbed the bronze.—APP
