Watchman of union council shot dead

DADU, Nov 6: A watchman of union council Siyal was gunned down while on duty at Mallah chowk of Dadu town on Tuesday.

According to detail, three unidentified armed men barged into the office of the Nazim UC Siyal.

The accused broke furniture and tried to ransack of the office.

When the watchman, Imtiaz Ali, 20, resisted, he was shot dead on the spot. On receiving information of the incident, Nazim, Muhammad Khan Chhajaro and DSP Dadu Aftab Ahmed Nizamani alongwith a heavy contingent of police arrived on the spot.

The body of the deceased was taken to civil hospital for autopsy. Nazim, union council Siyal, Muhammad Khan Chhajaro, told this correspondent that deceased had no enmity with any one.

He alleged that the district administration Dadu has failed to provide security to the citizens.

He threatened that the elected members of his union council would protest against the police, if district the administration failed to arrest the killers.

The cause of the murder could not be ascertained till filing of this report. Hajan Khan Panhwar, the uncle of the deceased, has named two persons as a suspect. The town police have arrested as many as 15 persons for interrogation.

DROWNS: One devotee of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz, Shahzad, 30, son of Din Muhammad resident of Lahore drowned in Aral Wah, when he was taking bath near the mazar of saint Juman Jatti in Sehwan town on Tuesday. His body was fished out by the fishermen after five hours hectic efforts. The body of the deceased was sent to his native town by Edhi centre.

CRUSHED: A minor girl Siama 7, daughter of Kabil Soomro was crushed to death under the wheels of a car on Thrari Mohabat- Radhan link road on Tuesday when she was crossing the road alongwith her father.

The driver of the car escaped alongwith the car from the scene.
