Top teams for Hazara Cup

LAHORE, Aug 6: Ten teams will take part in the All Pakistan Hazara Gold Cup hockey tournament to be held at Abbotabad from Aug 10 to 18.

Army, Air Force, Railways, National Bank, Navy, PTV, Wapda, Pakistan Ordnance Factory, PTCL and Allied Bank will participate in the tourney.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has appointed Zahir Shah as tournament director. Ikhlaq Usmani and Sheikh Abdul Majeed have been named as tournament officer and umpires manager, respectively.

PHF has also announced a panel of umpires for the tournament which is as follow: Muhammad Asif, Kamran Shah, Nigar Hussain, Hidayatullah, Tariq Jadoon (NWFP), Zulifqar Haider (Police), Haider Rasool (ABL), Jamil Butt (Army), Zaheerul Haque (Rawalpindi), Iftikhar Ahmed (Bahawalpur), Munawwar (PTCL) and Mahmood Anwar Dar (Gujranwala).

The technical briefing meeting of tournament director for managers and captains of the participating teams and subsequently for judges and umpires will be held on Aug 9 at 6pm.
