KARACHI, Jan 7 A judicial magistrate remanded on Thursday a suspected bank robber in police custody till Jan 11.

The police arrested Mohsin Ali in Peshawar on Jan 4 for allegedly robbing a bank on I.I. Chundrigar Road of foreign currency worth Rs311.2 million on Dec 13, 2009.

The police produced the suspect in the court of judicial magistrate (south) Sadurddin Bohyo to get his physical remand.The magistrate remanded the suspect in police custody and directed the investigation officer to produce him on the next hearing.

Hamid alias Sanaullah Mehmood, Iqbal Hussain and Laiq Hussain are the co-accused in the case and have already been remanded in judicial custody.

A case (FIR No 1060/2009) was registered under Sections 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 34 (common intention) of the penal code at Mithadar police station on the complaint of the bank manager.

Meanwhile, a judicial magistrate (south) remanded five suspects in arson attack case in police custody till Jan 9.

The suspects — Robhan Hussain, Asim Ali, Iqrar Hussain, Mohammad Zeeshan and Liaz Hussain - were booked for torching vehicles and shops within the Risala police limits.—Staff Reporter
