Fertilizer dealer sentenced, fined

MIRPURKHAS, Aug 3: Second judicial magistrate and FCM Mirpurkhas, Anwar Ahmed Memon, awarded two year imprisonment and a fine of Rs100,000 to Mukesh Kumar, owner of the United Trader Fertiliser Agency, for selling spurious fertilisers. He would under go an additional six month imprisonment, if he failed to pay the fine.

PROTEST: A rally was held by the Paramedical Staff Association here on Friday, to protest against the transfers of its office bearers.

It was led by Mukhtiar Khaskheli, Ghulam Rasool Jalbani and Ahmed Ali Rahimoon.

The protesters demanded of the director general, Health Services Sindh, to revoke the transfer orders of the three office bearers.

Scores of workers participated in the demonstration with banners and placards. They marched on Mirwah Road, MA Jinnah Road and Hyderabad Road and reached the Zila Nazim office.

A delegation of the protestors met with the DCO Mirpurkhas, Mohsin Qureshi, and the acting Zila Nazim, Nawab Muhammad Younus Talpur.

The protest ended after the assurance given by the acting Nazim that the transfer orders would be revoked.

KILLED: A youth was killed and two others seriously injured when a pick-up overturned in a bid to save a dog at Mirwah-Mirpurkhas road, on Friday.
